Why are serial killers seen as better than rapists?

They take lives, they take mothers and fathers away from their children and vice versa, they break families and destroy communities. How is that any better?

I’m not saying I would choose being raped over being killed. But a serial killer isn’t better than a rapist, I mean they get pleasure out of what they do anyways just like the rapist does.

Ending a human life to them is like stepping on a roach. They were the guys that probably got pleasure out of stomping on ant hills when they were kids.

And this is purely objective, obviously I don’t care much for the average person’s life. But this doesn’t make sense that serial killers are seen as less bad.
