Discussion Why are modern movies so much worse than older movies?

I thought it was just me so I compared the IMDb scores of the top grossing movies for 1991/2021, 1992/2022, 1993/2023 and 1994/2024.

... and the '90s one won every time.

I wanted to make sure it wasn't just nostalgia talking!

I don't really have a preferred time era for movies but recent movies are very woke and preachy which is why they fail at the box office alot

Unironically, because it was made by people that never touch grass or experience hardship in life

Woman and DEI departments force stereotypes which acts against creativity.

Many factors a big one for me is the complete disregard for cinematography. Look at old movies, look at the panning shots giving you a overview of the location, the way the camera zoom in, what the camera zoom on to. Old movies took the time it needed

Today, movies are made with a run time limit in mind, as such "unnecessary" camera shots get left out.
