I think this may be the reason. They seem to be far more naive than usual, probably as a result of their left-leaning ideologies, specifically with regards to topics like race (some don't even believe in races and are "race-blind" JFL). This, of course, results (on occasion) in violent tragedies in high immigrant density countries with gentlemen of the African or Arabian persuasion that would have otherwise been preventable.

Middle class folk in America have been so mentally weakened by multiple generations of enjoying the suburban middle class lifestyle that is generally insulated from the typical life problems people face in the world (lack of resources being the elephant in the room)
