I figure it's because it blurs race.
They can make a character model of ambiguous race and have their skin reflect that too.
I just wondered what you guys thought on this.
As far as I can see this is mostly within video games and I guess that's because it's the most flexible medium in this regard (character creators, etc).
I'll just put two examples below but there are loads and I'm sure many gamers are aware of this by now!
