If you're successful and/or attractive, you don't need to invest yourself in copes like religion (atheism included) to feel better. Also, religious people have "moral" values imposed on them which are nothing but a burden in modern society, or any society for that matter. Atheists aren't successful, it's just that successful people seem like atheists because they don't bother with this stuff.
