I met Larry Fine (of The Three Stooges) when I was six. He was out grocery shopping with his sister, and I guess hoping to have a quiet time of it, but I recognized him immediately and started tugging on my mom's coat and yelling, "The Stooges are here! There he is!"
Well, his face got red, because now everybody was looking at him. But he smiled at my mom and said, "It's nice to be recognized."
To this day, I don't know if he meant that, or was being politely sarcastic. But I wouldn't blame him for thinking that I was a little pain-in-the-ass.

Met not very famous people, but I met for example a porn star and German celebrity called Micaela Schäfer and took a pic with her in Mallorca holiday.
 
I was once within 10 metres of Russell Brand, didn't actually meet him though.
 
briefly met the King Charles 3rd. Probably about 2 foot away from him when he said hello. It was hard to tell if he was a lizard person or not
