Doesn't the increase in Gysh contribute more to the upper classes than to the average person? A similar situation applies to immigrants. They contribute to Gysh but now people have lower purchasing power, especially in places like housing.

No, productivity gains help the lower classes more than the upper class. The quality of life for the bottom level worker has increased tenfold from the early 1800s... the life of the top aristocrat has marginally improved.
That makes absolutely zero sense. Labor does not have diminishing marginal returns. More labor allows for more specialization and focus on comparative advantage which boosts average and marginal productivity, allowing workers to bargain for higher wages. One person on an island trying to grow food, keep shelter, and stay alive would be far far far less productive than an island with 100 people where each individual can focus on a specific task. An island with 100 people working together will yield a higher quality of life (wage) per person compared to an island with 1 person on it. More people allows productivity to exceed the sum of parts.
Stock buybacks do go into investment. When a company repurchases its own stock, it buys the stock from investors. Those investors now have more cash, and they invest that cash somewhere else. The stock market efficiently allocates this capital to where it's most efficient by providing higher returns to investors who invest their capital where it's most optimal.
