/r/incels was technically created by a user called "BrokeCFO" but he never used the subreddit for anything. Nobody knows why he made the subreddit and pretty much nothing is known about him.
/r/incels had no activity for years, but then BrokeCFO made Caamib a mod and he's the one who actually built up the sub. Unlike brokeCFO, a lot is known about Caamib. He's a nearcel from Croatia. He used to run a blog called "governmentsgetgirlfriends" and he was originally from the love-shy forum where he had various usernames including Dante and Alexius. He's had girlfriends before and was a decent looking guy when he was young, so he was more of a nearcel/mentalcel. He was certainly an interesting character. His posts ranged from somewhat serious to straight up shitposts. A lot of people couldn't tell when he was being serious, especially outsiders, so he ended up gaining a lot of infamy as a result, which he ended up leaning into. He made posts about how the government and his parents were "murderers" because they wouldn't help him get a gf, but those posts were tongue-in-cheek.
I remember one thread he made where he said his parents were in the living room watching TV and he "ran into the room like a maniac" wearing nothing but his underwear and called them murderers and broke a chair. That post made me fucking hysterical

Elana had nothing to do with the creation of .is, in fact she later denounced .is and other incels for "stealing" the term from her, even though she wasn't the first to use it as far as I'm aware.
I think Master made some posts debunking that myth around 2018 or 2019.
