because they supported and enforced a deeply corrupt caste system that locked cybertronians to specific occupational roles within society.

megatron and the decepticons are a resistance movement, they want the caste system torn down so all transformers can choose their own destiny, but the autobots refused and in continuities, even declared war on them first.

another thing too, the autobots represent order and discipline, while the decepticons represent chaos and anarchy.
i hate government, police and societies that try to have order and discipline while pretending to be free and happy.
