This english lad here Michael 'Eddie the Eagle' Edwards made history at the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary. He became the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping. He finished last in both individual competitions, but his spirit and personality captured the imagination of the world.
