Genes. Baldness from Dad's side, manletism from my maternal grandfather.
My mother being over protective didn't help, but she had an awful childhood so I can understand why she was like that. Being an only child didn't help with my sociability, but my Dad was an alcoholic who got violent. My mother had to nope out of there. Coming from a broken home is horrible.

Most who picked subhuman environment are probably mostly coping. Good genes = living well despite most any environment, bad genes = fail no matter the environment.
