True. My truck may have a tiny bit of PTSD too. It was parked in the parking lot of the local hardware store when a woman accidentally backed into the passenger side of it. Her car hit the running board and hopped up and hit the passenger door. It didn't damage the rear door though or the front fender luckily. The strong running board took most of the impact and prevented it from really getting fucked up. This was in 2021, and it still have the dent in the running board and scrape in the door. We never bothered fixing it because it's only cosmetic and the truck works fine. Bummer though, as it's a pristine 2016 extended cab Colorado with a 2 inch lift kit. The woman who hit it was homeless with no insurance, and only had a car and no other property, so no way for us to get compensation for it

2 of my grandfather's cars were in crashes. One had a slow head on frontal crash and needed a new bumper and headlight. The other one was parked on the street when someone rear ended it, absolutely decimating the trunk area. They did a good job reconstructing it and you'd never know it was once wrecked. Had to sell that car though because it was rusting out. That was over 6 years ago, so I wonder if the car is still alive
I hope it is. I loved that car. I know my dad's old Ford Ranger is still alive because I saw it the other day on the way to the cabin. They turned it into a company work truck. I know it's the same truck because it's a white 2 door 7 foot bed ranger of the same body style (super rare truck), and it has the same rust pattern ours did, just much worse since it has been over 4 years since we sold it. The rust was the whole reason we got rid of it. The truck I have now has almost no rust. Happy to see they old one is still going.

Nice. They really were good trucks. They also were geared nicely and even the 2.3 4 cylinder had good torque. My V6 Colorado is a way bigger and more powerful truck, but it has less initial torque because Chevy were dipshits and made the gear ration too high.

They are ok I guess. Never drove one though, and they are not as heavy duty as a Ranger. My current truck is a 2016 extended cab Colorado with a 2 inch lift kit and off road tires. It handles load pretty well, and looks good. Had around 1000 pounds in it and it handled it no problem. Maverick won't. Anymore, the Mid size trucks like Ranger and Colorado are so big they are almost full size trucks. Back in the old days, the rangers and colorados were much smaller than their full size counterparts. Only complaint I have about the colorado is I wish it was lower geared like the old rangers were.
Back in April I went to go look at said Maverick. It was '22 new it was $27k but they were asking $34k with like 10k miles. I ended up buying a '16 F150 for $31k. The Maverick drives like a small car with a bed on it. All the interior panels are hard plastic and the center screen has an empty gap next it it which is weird. Realistically it's all a homeowner really needs but the price just doesn't justify it. I can see it being a beater car or a teen first car in ten years.
Based. What F-150 model did you get? is it an extended cab, 4 door, or 2 door? Also, is it short bed, medium bed, or 8 foot bed? And is it 4x4, plus what engine is in it? My Colorado is the Z71 4x4 version and has a 3.6 V6 engine with 305 horsepower.
It's an XLT 3.5 Ecoboost 4 door 5 1/2 ft bed 4x4 3.55 gears. The only thing I don't like is the short bed wish it was 6 1/2ft. It has every option full tow package, double moonroof, tailgate step, adjustable peddles, etc. The truck new was like $58k. Today it would be a $70k truck. It even has the hockey stick stipes that matches my Boss 302.
