Big problem is that most anime is for children or teenagers.

It's rare to see something meant for adults like Steins Gate or Odd Taxi.

Also since it became mainstream isekai and harem-echi have taken up more and more space at least in my eyes. Or some dumb cuck shit like rent a girlfriend.

In general we lack good and brutal anime like the golden days, but AFAIK Japans government has a campaign against violence in their media. They try to limit it to the standards of Germany from the 2000s I have the feeling.

I know that anime was always a medium that just like tv had 75% slop and 25 quality content. But it's sad to see that the quality is getting more rare with every passing year.

I wish we would see more adult oriented stories. There are more then enough mangas that give a great stage.

I was the same as you except i started watching in even earlier. I have already went through dropping anime for a long ass time. I ain't dropping them again unless we will have literally zero shows that i could rate at least 6/10. Yeah current season is bad but not that bad.
