It's a minority of rich people that are the reason everything is the way it is: they want to allow immigrants into the countries in question because they are willing to work for the lowest wages, irrespective of the negative impacts this obviously has in many realms of the societies, the negative economic impact on the native working-class, culturally, crime, and so on.
And the Conservative Right-wing politicians are to be seen as the opposite of how Leftists frame them. As opposed to being an existential threat to immigrants, Conservative Right-wing politicians just foster the capitalist class just as their Liberals/Left counterparts do: they tell their voter-base they will "do something about immigration," but really just exist to support the system that allows in the immigrants and obviously doesn't do everything in their resources (the Western countries, U.S.A., U.K., France, etc. are the wealthiest on earth) to stop them. The Far-Right is of course aware of this, for example: this comic.
I've even read Left-wing literature point this out for the Republican Party and white nationalism in the United States. To placate and moderate them, the complete opposite of being them.
