Over for UniversityOfHoustoncels.
Your energy could be considered off but that doesn’t automatically make you an incel. I had a guy harassing me at work the other day with simple flirtations made so much creepier by his disposition, that he wasn’t smiling, he seemed on edge, kinda disheveled etc. I couldn’t tell you if he was trying to wear my skin or if he was just nervous/not used to talking to girls and trying his best, but the problem is we REALLY cannot tell the difference on the spot, and so our first impulse is to self preserve.
My advice would be to not see women as so different than yourself. Building them up as “the opposite sex” is only going to make you more anxious and less understanding of them as people. You should befriend women, not with the expectation of sex or a relationship, but just to show there’s mutual trust. You will be more comfortable over time, and eventually the rest will fall into place. And if your question is “how do I befriend women?” The same way you befriend men. Just like with men, the term “friendzone” should be very far out of your mind. We are in fact cool enough to just talk to.
