They only do this for the luggage you bring in on the plane. The one you put inside the baggage hold of the plane you just give them the baggage at the ticket booth and they send it somewhere fuck knows where and then you just pick it up when you land.

This happened both when I went to Turkey and Egypt and those are not in the EU. They never searched the baggage I bring on plane, always left those at the cashier of the ticket booth. So idk if this will happen.
