It's kinda legit, but depends on what category you choose. For dating, I put a non-smiling semi-chad with a so-so pic and he got a 7.5. I put myself in my best pic smiling and got a 6.3.
I tried another pic shot in the same, no-effort, no-smiling style as the semi-chad and got a 3.5.
So basically you need to compare to similar types of photos because good lighting + good smile will up your rating by several tiers.
It basically measures first impressions, similar to speed-dating, and a sparkling smile is the absolute best first impression you can make.
None of these rules apply if you're a chad. Can literally have pedophilic porn in the background and a sign saying "I love rape" and still get 9.5+.
