There are redeeming parts about Russia though. They have isolated areas where civilisation is miles away in the north and in Siberia. Traditional anti-hedonistic culture is alive there, but they're mostly Finno-Ugric and Siberian natives who fish and hunt. I'd prefer to live there, my life would have a meaning then.
