Stopped watching gore because I've seen it all, from head-on car collisions leaving the dead victims completely disfigured/dismembered to heads being cut off by ISIS and people being skinned alive/burned alive, you name it. Definitely gives you a realer perspective on life and how vulnerable we really are.
I watched them to understand the true nature of humans and I did find interest in the stuff displayed but I can't be asked to be doing that stuff unless someone really ticks me off. I remember seeing a pig eat a human fetus and it was in India, I just laughed at the fact that life is considered dirt cheap there.
Can't imagine watching that shit, would without a doubt mess my mind up beyond repair.

I watch them because some of that stuff is humorous, you would be surprised how people die in ridiculous ways. Like that indian guy taking a shit and then trips over and a truck smashes his head. It a reminder of how delicate life is. Also some of it is for curiosity, like when you see people with half a body missing but still alive or half a face missing like those shotgun suicide fails or that cow that got hit by a train and its face was missing but it was still alive.
I don't watch them regularly. Once a year I'll watch one or two.

It's strange. I think some people ITT are virtue signaling by saying they don't watch gore videos. In high school, my friends and I loved gore videos.
I think gore is interesting. I’ve actually learned a lot through watching gore, mostly safety related: (like how you need to be careful near or in heavy machinery, lab machines, construction zones, driving motorcycle or scooter, Brazil/thailand is fucking dangerous, etc)
there are many easy ways of getting killed. But gore put it in new perspective for me.

A long time ago, families used to gather in the town square to watch people get executed. It was entertainment for parents and children alike. There's something in the human psyche that wants to see it. It helps you live life more cleanly and clears your mind of unimportant things.
