I think that fishcat is a pretty neat design.
Fairy was already an egg group and they turned it into a type as well to balance some OP types such as dragon and fighting.
I didn't find it that bad tbh, lots of worse things in the newer generations IMO.

The anime is just terrible indeed. I like the Pokémon Adventures/Special manga. Especially the third gen saga, Sapphire walking around dressed as a native with leaves instead of clothes as a hebe was hot tbh ngl.
The main anime is boring , badly paced(too many ''filler ep'') that add nothing to the story and repetitive(team rocket) . I also hate Shatoshi (Ash) as the main character. It was fun the first few gens but they continued with the same formula,and soon everyone stopped watching.
