I dont know if that phenomenon has a specific name, but i noticed that sometimes, usually guys taller than me (which are most) lay their hand on their shoulder sometimes when talking to me. My class teacher often does that and recently a guy at the gym did when he asked if had enough space infront of the mirror. They dont seem unfriendly or threatening when doing that, but it feels like its a subtle way of showing their dominance over me or they see me as a weak manlet and therefore think its okay to do that. Or am i overthinking that and it has no special meaning ?

Did anyone else have similar experience ?

I get that as well, from some co-workers and they are all much shorter than me.

People do a lot of such things without giving it much thought.

I do that to when I am closer to someone than usual.
Depending on the context it can have several meanings.

Like, cheering someone up, checking on someone, asking for someone's attention, if you want to pass or need their attention because you want to show them something / say something.

According to me is nothing to worry about, guys who have done this to me have also been friendly to me.

It can have many, many different meanings. From dominance all the way to a flirt. I personally do not like to overinterpret such movements too much and I honestly do not care if somebody is touching me, therefore I just give them the benefit of the doubt.

If they tap your shoulder It means they respect, if they keep the hand there, they feel superior

They use it to show their superiority over you. And they do it to legit retards too.

It's dominance/authority. A boss can do it to an employee, but not vice-versa.
