Whats the OVERWHELMING appeal of Anime stuff for incels?

Sorry I just dont get it... Ive never seen anime that was the slightest way appealling to me personally.... In fact, usually I dislike Any animation thats japanese influenced.. And video game rpgs, Strictly Western(like bethesda), nothing asian at all... Maybe someone here can explain the appeal of it? So many incels seem to use them as avatars, and anime seems to be a major thing here... Can someone explain WHY you guys like it?

I've seen most Miyazaki films, and Ninja Scroll, Akira, Perfect Blue, etc. Classics. I actually love animation as an art form but mainstream anime fair is so meh.

Oh yea and I saw Cowboy Bebop back in the day. Remember enjoying it. Anyway I was exaggerating with my comment. I guess I'm just alienated from all the anime fandom here.

It seems to be part of popular video gaming culture, so if your a gamer(like me) you HAVE to see it somewhat... Im jjust trying to comprehend why so many incels seem to like it.... I LOVE cartoons, however, Im limited to simpsons, futurama, and bugs bunny... Anything anime instantly repels me...

The way I see it is: guy lacks social interaction for whatever reason, guy uses anime as escapism, this pushes guy into further social isolation, guy becomes incel.

As to why anime, well anime is the quintessential escapist media. The stories are nothing but escapism. It is created by social outcasts for social outcasts which is how relatability comes about.

The reason why it's animation specifically and then again in another completely foreign language, is because that creates another layer of being removed from ones painful reality, making the escapism more effective.
