Serious What's a legit way to know if it's IOI or cope?

How do you know if she's interested or just friendly? What should I do or say to know for sure? I'm pretty sure she's not interested, but I want to at least try it and risk an embarrassing rejection instead of regretting it later when I never see her again.

It's school environment, so she sometimes initiates conversations with me but it never goes further than talking about school, teachers etc.
