I watch the movie usually once a year and no matter how often i watch it, i will never get over how insanely blackpilled and depressing the movie is. Im not even exaggerating, i never saw a movie that came even close to the level of darkness, hopelessness and blackpillness to this one.

It hits harder when you drank some booze, just had a good amount of Jacky :feelsohh:

The scene where theyre sitting in the club is brutal. I almost cried watching it.

oh so thats where lefrenchcel's avi came from

its the most brutal shit, way ahead of its time, just brutality.

Another brutal quote from the movie thats underrated:

Female therapist: "When was the last time you had sex ?"
Hero: " about 2 years ago"
Female therapist: "ahh. There we have it. How do you wanna love life under these circumstances ?"

Read the book, it's much more brutal but Michel has a unique writing style honestly.

It's a good film, I've seen it 3 times already, I've also read the novel it was based off.

Compared to the novel, the film comes up short in quality, it isn't as detailed as the book, and the ending was also unnecessarily altered, I would've preferred if they kept it the way it's originally supposed to be.

I doubt i would be able to finish it. I tried reading a book i bought once like 3 times and never finished it because they were too hard to read. And from what i heard Houellebecqs books tend to be hard to read as well

I had simply nothing better to do than just read his book honestly. It was difficult to read and understand but I got used to it as I went along.

Will have to watch

@LeFrenchCel
bluepilled ending kinda ruins it

When I first watched it, I laughed out loud and squeaked like a piggy in happiness, when I saw the part which in avi of @BlackPilledNormi

-Raphael... Raphael
- What can I do?
-Go jerk off!
-So it's hopeless?
-Of course it is. It always was. From the start. You'll never be a girl's erotic dream. Get used to it. It's not for you. Anyhow, it's too late. All your sexual failures since adolescence, the frustration dogging you since puberty, have scarred you forever. Even if you could find a woman, which I frankly doubt, it wouldn't work. It will never work. You're orphaned by the teenage loves you never had. It's already hurt you. It'll keep getting worse. An agonizing bitterness will fill your heart. There's no redemption. No release. That's how it is.

Most therapists would never say or even imply what she did, they would just gaslight you further or prescripe you usesless pills

Extra brutal considering 2 years without sex is meant to be a long time when to me it's a level of sexual activity that seems like a fantasy to have.

The book is even more brutal, read it

im about to watch it rn imma drink too imma come back with my impression of the movie rn theyre by a bonfire and the protag is snorting some blow

This scene always makes me want to start smoking, you can say what you want but there is nothing as chad as ignoring all consequences and just show other people how weak they actually are

In real life he would have gotten a lawsuit for that

Holy fuck is that movie brutal
To think is was made in 1999
I wonder how its characters would react to modern dating market

mfw taking some pharmaceutical retarding pill won't make people hate me less or the world be more kind to me. therapists are one of the most soulless vultures the world has to offer. im sure there are threads that talk about it indepth. theese people deserve way more hate than they get.

I am afraid to watch it, will it depress or blackpill me even further?
