Seriously though, all that would have been required for us to be on our way to heaven on earth was one large scale successful eugnics program. Remove the most fundamental inequality in human history, the inequality in distribution of desirable genetic material and create a world where ~no one has to be born ugly, stupid, mentally ill or physcially deficient.
