WELCOME BACK TO X PLAY!

Because it was. Remember when tv networks used to show the credits without cutting in with ads or shrinking the credits screen to show what's coming up next? But that had long passed even by the time the great turning of 2007 had begun @Lebensmüder

Watched mainly "Upps! - die Pannenshow" which mainly consisted out of American home videos commented by German moderators as a child after learning about it by a friend of mine.

And watched Nature documentaries mainly, my favorite one was one about African snakes (my favorite was the Boomslang). With a bonus movie about Queimada Grande where the island lancehead (Bothrops insularis) can be found, it's one of the snakes with the highest rate of hermaphrodites (individuals with both male/female sex organs), mostly aboricol and feeds on birds (which are easily killed by them due to lacking a fibrinolytic system).

Also completely enjoyed a documentary about carnivorous plants which led me to keeping/breeding them for a short while as a child, especially liked the Roridula although it doesn't even digest its prey and just uses invertebrates to eat the caught animals that then produce manure with their shit.

Also enjoyed The Land Before Time and TV documentaries about dinosaurs. Then mostly the Clone Wars, Kid v.s. Kat, Spongebob and Timmy Turner. Also liked The Night Of Wishes, Ulysses and Jimm Button. Jfl, spent most of my childhood on my Nintendo DS with Mario games, best time in my life. With 12 I started watching true crime documentaries (after seeing a documentary about the Monster Of Florence) and nazi documentaries mainly.

The only consistent enjoyable coping incels experienced was in childhood when eating/drinking, watching tv or playing video games. Fontaine theory.

This tbh, could you please send me a link for Fontaine theory? Didn't find anything about it. Would consider my childhood a happy one ngl. Would also be interested in yours.

Books were also an enjoyable cope, also remember my travels to the Mediterranean as a child (probably the best moment in my life as a saw an Olm/Proteus anguinus in a cave or some whip snakes/Hierophis sp., probably gemonensis on a beach).

Had that little field guide to European reptiles (which I still have) with me and was permantly looking for animals, also had a field guide about spiders and looked in the basement of my grand parents for them, built even a small collection of them in a garden shed my parents had (until I fell ill and couldn't care for them anymore).

Also collected minerals and enjoyed mountains as a whole (was once good in skiing and also remember a visit in a salt mine with my school). Also loved volcanoes, in my region there are some inactive volcanoes and there you could still see the lava bombs from the eruption thousand of years ago. Want to visit these regions again.

Also enjoyed submarines and aircraft. One thing I remember from my childhood: I was tobogganing with a friend of mine and he yelled "egg liquer", while I understood "Lakehurst" which was the place where the Hindenburg (a famous blimp) had its accident (both sound similiar in my language), was funny as I explained what I meant.

Was also someone who liked to draw/paint, mostly dinosaurs, deep-sea fish and Mario figures. Also had some pets in the form of my spiders and also in the form of some Triops/other crustaceans. Was also a hobby-mycologist.

Also visited museums for mountain exploration and mining quite often, also some museums about spacecraft. Still remember some great moments in zoos/zoo shops, for example as I saw a baby giant snakehead (Channa micropeltes), a tigerfish (Hydrocynus sp.) and other animals in zoo shops around that time and the phasmatodeans that were on display in a garden shop in my vicinity. My favs in the aquarium were some cobitids called Pangio and Black Tetras.

Also had some great aspirations for my future, always wanted to become a herpetologist/ichthyologist/taxidermist/pharmacologist - nothing more. But had to visit psychiatrists due to not fitting in with other children, being bullied and not taking it, not looking people in the eyes, avoiding body contact, due to having an interest in fire/poisons/explosives/knives (jfl) and due to missing from phyiscal education (always claimed sickness, which was indeed true because I had Asthma/headaches, for the latter I was often in health resorts to improve lung function). Also got extreme troubles in school after I tried to make a mineral lookalike out of salt and ink.

Had to learn hard as a child and was often scorned by my parents with extreme bullying in school, but it was still an enjoyable childhood, because I had one good friend and great copes (like Yu-Gi-Oh/Mario/etc.) which made everything tolerable. I wish everything remained that way, but after puberty everything became so much worse. That is the average life of an autistcel.

IQmogs me tbh

Even the outdoors was more fun to go out in. But some of that imo was the lack of internet and quantification of every landmark. You just had to explore it for yourself. There was no immediately available online guide.

The world is just a more enticing place when you are really young tbh

Chemistry experiments and projects were always fun.

tbh childhood wasn't all good but coping with tv shows and imagination/drawing and being blissfully unaware of any pressures to have relationships because everyone around you was also in the same kind of state can't be brought back.

Going to read it asap. Thank you for finding it.

Thanks. Am average IQ, just read a lot of these things.

This tbh. The mysticism of everything (video games, exploration, etc.) was destroyed due to the better available information, nowadays when you don't find something out in a video game you don't talk to bros/older gamers, but rather look it up on the Internet.

Same. Everything seemed like an adventure.
Chemistry experiments and projects were always fun.
Yes, still remember the volcano with foam.

Yes. Completely this. Was almost a constant state of euphoria compared to the existence after puberty, afterwards I had nothing to relate to others anymore (no Yu-Gi-Oh, Donkey Kong, Mario, dinosaurs as common interests), was unattractive/small/scrawny/later fat and therefore was bullied by girls/boys relentlessy. Developed sleep problems, shitty grades, genuine malice towards others and eating disorders due to it, even after improving myself academically/physically speaking (A's again instead of B's/C's, graduated with A-levels, from >80kg to <55kg, gymmaxxing, getting into the academic fields I wanted) the damage was done - and it didn't change anything about my situation, before it I was bullied/humiliated, afterwards I was invisible (am still very small, have still lung problems when running as well as akne/autism, am still physically mogged by people who have never been in a gym). Even in college the shit continued with "funny pranks" or social exclusion. Jfl, it never ends really, the worst thing is the teenage years, but afterwards everything just works on a more microscopical level. Childhood >> everything

Drawn together, i was a 6yo coomer

No problem.

tbh it wasn't just youth but still having things in your surroundings being relatively untouched from excessive classification and not being easy to look up beside maybe a picture or two.
Same. Everything seemed like an adventure.
You were never out of energy back then either.
Yes, still remember the volcano with foam.
Was going to mention that but thought other things might come to mind for you. Yeah the volcano experiments and paper maches that took hours constructing in the summer were great.

tbh but only the times in childhood spent outside of school. School still sucked even during childhood ngl.

I watched whatever shit they put on Cartoon Networks at least 5 hours per day for many years

A lot of Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network when it used to show good shows.
