Was just reading a convo on Linkedin about a group of parents (from Germany) talking about their 14/15 yo sons and daughters future jobs. How most kids these days are from the AI and Social Media generation and do not want to do "certain jobs" like barber, painter, cashier and some other shit.
The kids were asking about robotics, AI, Software engineering, holographic technology, VR/AR, 3D printing and desinger in XYZ, Game developement, energy management, medics and becoming a doctor.
Meanwhile the job mess the kids were visiting obviously were all about the shit jobs the German Market needs: Cooks, Kindergarteners, Retail, Electricians, Social Workers who take care of elderly and the deranged. Blue collar jobs yah know and especially the nasty ones.
The German education system is a fucking joke. It was a joke when I was 15 yo and it is now 10 years later.
In 9th and 10th grade you do internships in 2 companies for about 2 to 3 weeks each.
I did mine in 9th grade in a Kindergarten and in 10th grade in a fashion market.
In both I was a fucking nobody and in both of these I did shit like feeding children, dressing them kids, playing with the kids and watching over them so they dont do stupid stuff and on the other one I was on "the band" like it was chain work. I was there and unpackaged shit all day and then take out the trash and clean corners ans rooms that the employees got no time to clean for years.
2 of these rooms I cleaned out in 1,5 weeks time, by then half the internship was over. They then wanted me to help with even more garbage or to secure certain products. I was eventually getting pissed what the idiots on the internship didnt understand. I was getting pissed because of the 15 days that I worked there 10 were over and I had not done ANYTHING I could write into my thesis - we were supposed to write a thesis what we did and learned in the 15 days in our selected compay.
Now what was I supposed to write in mine "Make coffee, take out the trash and clean disgusting rooms?"
Fact is : As an intern, no matter where you are, you are treated a subhuman and get to do subhuman work.
Didnt change when I worked several minimum wage jobs. Cleaning disgusting shit, doing repetive mindless work and being screamed at by the boss was the regular. No matter where it was it always repeated itself.
And thats what these parents - but also the Gen Z/Alpha kids dont understand: The job market doesnt care about what "Dream Jobs" you have, what "Lifestyle" you want to do, what "Hobbies and Talents" you may have had as a teenager.
The kids dont get SHITJOBS must be done and those jobs are shit for a reason, they are stressful, they are hard (Mentally AND physically), they ruin your health over time and they aint paying shit. You know why? Because you arent a human, you are a cog in a machine that wants to grow each year. It cant lose cogs. And it gets more and more like that and this is the reason the System wants nobod to own a home, to own property.
The System wants to MOVE you around, freely.
Also at this point what does it matter what your kid does?
It will be a wageslave if you aint rich or have suddenly won the lottery or have a serious networking of dozens of high level connections.
Your son definitely will do some grunt work for the rest of his life and it doesnt matter what it is cook, nurse, firefighter, smith, metal worker, Retail, data entry, Electrician - ALL of those jobs are "McDonalds".
If you make between 14€ and 30€ an hour you wont escape the wage-cage.
Your kid wont be rich or in fact he wont be succesful at all.
He aint gonna find the cure for cancer, nor will his Name be known and no - you better tell your kid he aint gonna live an influencer lifestyle with dozens of Stacies and Lambo and fat mansion and can travel around the world and has "work life balance"
This aint what the system needs, thats not what the system wants. The system wants cogs that possess nothing and are all but surviving yet completely interchangable.
And thats what differs Gen Z/A too from the other generations: you WONT have the same job for all your life. A Gen Z and Alpha will ALWAYS need to be up to date, always need to do more Tests, more exams, more shit. Always learn new things.
The Gen X parents are still stuck in this "you need to find a good job and get an apprentanceship and itll all work out" - NO it doesnt.
I went to college. 4 years. It was hell. Theres THOUSANDS of students just on that college alone and most of them drop of and try to do yet another degree.
I seen 30 yo go back to College because they worked 10 years at a car wash and cant take it anymore.
I remember this guy clearly. He sat next to me on a train and was talking to a girl who ALSO was in her 30s and came from news Media industry - she said this is a doomed industry.
She asked this dude for his net worth and he answered "40k"
He is 30 and worked at a car wash for 40k and has a 40k networth.
And thats the kind of people all of yoir Gen Z and Alpha kids will be.

Only the Top 5% in Germany make above 100k a year - which isnt even that much if you are bad with money.
And even if you have a 100k€ job, you still wont escape the system. You wont retire early, you will maybe own an Apartment, maybe even a house and have a decent car. So yesh you will be above the other ones.
