The main goal of a terror/ER attack is not in itself to kill people. It is to traumatize and instaure fear in the enemy's mind by permanently altering the enemy's sense of security and shattering their (bluepill) beliefs.
Therefore, to be successful the attack must:
- be particulary shocking or brutal
- be mediatized as much as possible
- carry a powerful message or vindication
Targeting and killing a single high ranking individual (such as a president) will have much more reach and impact than killing 20 random normies.
An ER event that is on video tape and has a lot witnesses will gain a much broader reach than an ER event that happens behind closed doors.
Finally the attack must carry a clear and powerful message that explains its purpose.
Thus, despite ER's attack bein a total operation failure, he still was able to reach great infamy.
This is because his message and motivations were simple and well written down in a manifest that resonated with many of us.
I still exactly remember that day of 2014 when I learned about the ER shooting and read about his motivations.
My thought was: shit, this guy is exactly like me
