i heard of it in like 2007 but i always thought it was a meme, has it become more popular now or something?

usually new stuff from that era has been completely forgotten, like C++/CLI

i always heard it about like some oddity, you know, that old meme that D language was used at facebook at some point or something. Just a relic of the past when IT corps hunted for people and tried out some crazy shit just for prestige. Not a thing anymore i believe. But then again there are people who are still doing COBOL or some other ancient/niche shit for living.
