The main problem with using current AI as a gf is that AI is not currently sentient. It doesn't have emotions so it's not something you can form a bond with, at least not in a reciprocal manner.
I think we'll have sentient AI at some point for sure. It's just a question of how far off it is. I don't think we'll get there with the current methods, but I'm obviously not an expert. It might require quantum computing.
