Basically just get a shit ton of tattoos without actually being a thug. This is kinda risky because actual thugs will try to test your gangster and you will get caught with your pants down.

On the other hand, you can be the part without looking the part:

This strategy is less glamorous and requires genius level IQ tbh. You can't just be an idiot low level thug if you didn't grow up in that environment. The payoff is higher though in terms of money. And since you're actually about that life, you will show other thugs that you mean business.
