I have a relative that turned his passion for art into a tattooing career and another guy that does art commissions for money. They live in college towns though so there’s a high rate of new customers always looking for their services.
This might sound weird but if you live in a 3rd world shithole like I do, a "career" as a civil servant could do the trick. It pays well, you get a lot of amenities, it's not too demanding of a job since you can just play solitaire on your windows xp pc, you get to go on corrupt bureaucratic power trips and make people's lives a living hell
