Yep, I've spent many hours on this Minecraft world I have, I built a large house and I explored a huge massive cave system.
I got tired of creepers sneaking up on me and blowing holes all over the place, so I tamed a cat from the nearby village, I named him Ironheart, he protects me from creepers.
So far I've completed exploring a mineshaft, and I've also found a trial chamber which I've not completed yet due to its difficulty, there's still a lot more to the cave though, it's just hard to advance due to mob spawn.

Exploring Minecraft caves with your cat is nice, but make sure that the cat stays alive.
I have not ever finished Minecraft because I don't even know all these things, such as the trial chamber and all that.
I don't understand why there isn't a way for players to gather information about the world they are in from villagers, books and such, in the world.
It would make it easier for complete newcomers to understand what they must do next.
For example, I have managed to get in the nether, but only because a co-worker explained to me how to get inside.
I needed to get some stuff for that thing that the cleric or so needs. Not aure anymore what it's all called.

But even then, I don't know how to progress in the "story part" of the game without cheating. No, so far I have not cheated.
The only thing I did was turn on permanent thunderstorms in one world, because I like thunderstorms. It's just for fun.
