What happens to animals whose females only breed with top tier males?

Thing is humans been doing this for only few years since internet and socialmedia/dating apps skyrocketed. animals been doing it for many centuries. i wonder if it benefited them or not, probably not, but someone should do more research to make a statement.

Most nature shows never really cover how much death nature produces. Something like 20-40% of all members of a species die in winter.

Keep in mind to that humans are relatively unique in having no specific breeding season. For most animals they only care about sex for a short period of a few weeks during the year.
