@gymletethnicel any updates on HTS?
Rebels in the south have takend Daraa and the area surrounding it, including Jordanian border crossing. Damascus was fortified from the north so rebels in the south can take advantage of that. Homs not taken yet, well-fortified. I suspect it will take a day or two at least. Lots of airstrikes in the north and many rebels dead so the offensive in the north might be somewhat in a halt, but only time will tell.
On the other hand, Russia might just start dropping bomb after bomb but their resources are a different topic.
Russia will not have that capability like they do now if the military airport in Latakia is taken.

Hopefully IS takes advantage of the instability like ISIS-K did in Afghanistan. I would love to see IS regain territory in Syria and implement Sharia law. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria shall rise again!

HTS = Sunni rebels, largely self-funded, designated terrorist organization, previously in kahoots with Al Qaeda, less extreme than Taliban/AQ and ISIS
SNA = Also rebels, but Turkey-backed, less Islamist
SDF = Kurdish group supported by USA and Western bloc, largely soy, democractic and gay
SAA = Government + Russia + Iranian proxies, carpets bombs its own cities to remain in power
Everyone of them besides SAA sounds like a US proxy

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO

I think minorities like the Alawites and whatever Christians are left will flee the country, triggering another Syrian refugee wave. I think Erdogan is miscalculating by thinking this will improve Syria enough to send refugees back. The rest of Europe started to send Syrians back too, but that’s not possible for the foreseeable future.

If HTS won and instituted a version of the Taliban, in the long run I think that would be worse for Israel as Hamas could take refuge there like Al Qaeda did In Afghanistan. Assad has been too reluctant to formally back Hamas, but an outcast Islamist group might. Assad was the more stable option for sure, pre-11 Syria is better than any of the other factions holistically, but it’s hard to say I support him.

I hope this doesn't devolve into a Libya situation where the winners from Assad's downfall continue fighting but I'm not optimistic.

@InsidiousMerchant @gymletethnicel
Turkey invades Syria to back SNA against Kurds. I support Turkey because weakening Kurds/PKK/SDF helps IS & only IS can bring Justice & Sharia law to Syria.

SDF are backed by NATO and Israel, but actually backed, not backed like HTS in Iranian fantasy delusions.
So I definitely support SNA against wijibiji kurds.

The question now is whether rebel forces will now chill, go fight Israel or try to take out SDF.

I prefer Syria under Abdel Gamel Nasser

HTS is neutral in the fight between kurds & sna.

I unironically hope Daesh takes advantage of the instability in Syria & rises again. Daesh isnt as good as the OG al Nursa front but that group is long gone, so Daesh is the best option for Syria rn

FUCK. GOD PROTECT HTS EVEN THOUGH I DISLIKE THEM. THIS IS THE TIME TO STAY FIRM.
Unfortunately, they struck a deal with the Russians that allows the Russians to keep their bases, it seems that they are diplomacy maxxing right now. So probably will make a deal with Israel to some extent so that Israel can give guaranteed they wont bomb them, doubt they will actually fight.

Yeah I saw that Joulani is trying to take diplomatic route with SDF, I wonder if they are even still going to fight anyone. Ehh they probably will if Israel forces their hand. HTS has same ideology as Hamas. Joulani is from the Golan height so probably his dream is to take that from the Israelis.

HTS has same ideology as Hamas.
HTS’s ideology is actually closest to the OG Free Syrian Army.

Hamas are moderate sunnis & HTS are salafi sunnis, Hamas is pro Hezbollah & HTS hates Hez

My true view on Syria conflict:

Al Nursa > ISIS > HTS > SNA > Assad > Kurds

They will not fight Israel. I don't believe that. Hey, I've also heard Russia has given their bases to Israel? Can you confirm this?

Al Nursa > ISIS > HTS > SNA > Assad > Kurds
Objectively, Al Nusra betrayed IS, and honestly then betrayed Al-Qaeda. Joulani is slimy, but he is a very intelligent prince. And no doubt in terms of hukm, the Islamic State was more strict in applying it. The newest release of their commentary dedicated to the events that took place in Syria is that HTS and others are not applying Sharia just yet.

They will not fight Israel. This is 100 percent guaranteed.

Hamas leadership was pro-Iran but their actual troops weren't, and the general population of Palestine is strictly against Hezbollah and Shi'ites.

Prepare for a lot of infighting.
