Possible but their birthrates have been subreplacement since the 1970s (or even earlier, I don't remember) and immigration has never been considered until extremely recently. Same goes for China and South Korea. East Asian governments view lowering birthrates as a problem differently from the West. Makes sense given that immigration is at best a temporary solution

anyways the tldr is that while the West viewed falling birthrates as something that could continuously be mitigated by increased migration, the East Asians viewed it moreso as a cultural and social problem. since it's not getting any better they are considering allowing immigration.
ironically due to their cultural and economic status they might pull off something like Switzerland, where their immigrants are, in the majority, skilled Europeans from Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, etc, which makes me curious about the shit about Indians
