A sage is traveling through the world. One day, he reaches a certain kingdom.
The people of this realm say their king is kind and treats his subjects with respect. However, they also say the king is a recluse who prefers fiction and materialism over human contact.
The sage decides to visit the king and teach him about friendship.
The king accepts the sage’s proposition, and for a few days, the sage gives him lessons on friendship, the value of human companionship, and the importance of connection.
However, after a few days, it becomes clear that his efforts are in vain.
The king still prefers materialism and escapism. He tells the sage that he is egotistical for wanting to change his mind and despite claiming to be wise, the sage is narrow-minded for refusing to accept other perspectives. The king says his way of life makes him happy, and he sees no reason to change it.
