It'll be around for sure, there was a media witch hunt against @Master's other website Sanctioned Suicide a few years back - and by big outlets like NYT and BBC - and it's still up. I think that it'll take a lot to shut this forum down

I down some cricket based nutrient paste before brushing my teeth with tap water (in 2026 we had a toothpaste shortage). The alarm blares and me and my other building residents all march outside. The air is thick with fog and everything stinks of sulfur. Elon Musk's head appears on our Google Pixel phones instructing us to get our mining gear and report for duty in the lithium mines. Musk died in 2028 but his conscious was preserved in Grok. His CGI head made in Blender periodically pops up on screens across the nation.
Heading to the mines my friend Marty (pronouns he/him) tells me about how he's going steady with his Replika AI girlfriend. They're planning to rent out a holoroom and simulating the Japanese countryside for their wedding. I give him a pat on the pack and congratulate him on his marriage. He also tells me he's gotten a raise -- he's up to 600 Monero a month now.
Work in the mines is tough. We spend all day mining lithium for Tesla cars and Optimus servant bots. The work whistle blows and we all head to lunch. I use the time to talk to my state appointed ChatGPT therapist. It gives me a series of bullet points on how to be a stylish dresser to that women will like me; I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
Eventually the workday ends and I head back home. I put on my Meta Quest VR headset and watch ASMR videos on it. It makes me feel like the girl is really in front of me. I do this for 7 hours straight until I pass out from exhaustion; the cricket paste doesn't give me enough energy.

I'll bet 5 bucks that at least one of these happen, i'd say not so much civil war but the others are pretty believable. I'd also say yeah it might cost us the site but there's always ways to restart or migrate elsewhere just incase.
Yeah. The civil war part is a bit of stretch i agree, but i would not deny the possibility completely.
And i do hope there is back-up plans for the future of this forum, perhaps a Mastodon instance? (The mastodon instance was just due to user friendliness, i doubt most users here would bother with Tor)

Eh, considering that this forum has no connections to any part or even links to the fediverse at all I doubt it. You shouldn't forget that this site still has an active X/Twitter account run by the staff.
yeah, the mastodon instance was just a brain fart on my end, my first thought was user friendliness and being de-centralized.
If the only option becomes using Tor im down for it, but not sure if everyone would.

I remember accessing this site via the tor browser and had an onion service linked to it, however it no longer works, so if this site does die it's probably gonna go on tor.
