Recently I have found myself watching a lot of these unhinged clips on twitter and I'm really not sure what to think. Extrajudicial vigilanteism is a slippery slope, and often times the people they target seem mentally handicapped. Moreover the catchers themselves come across as high school bullies who missed shoving nerds in lockers and decided to start doing this so they could feel that thrill again. A lot of the clips also are about catching gays which is weird to begin with as they are gay-roleplaying on the app grindr to bait their targets out
I think it would be funny to reverse-catfish these people and show up to the meeting location armed and pull a knife or a gun on them (in GTA 6) and tell them they are the ones being trapped here. It would put them in their place, and show them they can't go around and beat up random people without consequences. But I would never do this, as I do not care enough about the situation to risk involvement with the law. Also, there would be no way to prove I wasn't actually trying to meet with the fake minor, and that my sole motive was to trick them. Things would potentially escalate very quickly, especially given how brutish and aggressive these people often act.
