Yes, because politics is mainly just a way for these young men to vent. A means by which they direct their energy and attention at something. Right-wing politics is popular because it offers a hypothetical solution to their problems, or at the very least, it further clarifies the problem.
However, for the vast majority of these men, none of their lives will get better because of their politics. They'll invest all that time and energy into it, and nothing tangible will change in their lives. I know this from experience. If anything, it's just a cortisol spike more often than not. That's why I think politics is jester.
I do think it's important to be aware of what's going on. Ignorance is not bliss in the real world. However, there's just not much of a return on investment for politics unless you're actually in the scene and have money, power, or status to gain from it. I don't like Jews either, but I'm not constantly talking or thinking about how I don't like them. In fact, I hardly think about them at all.
