recommend me some good stuff, just started reading a book on cryptography

The Prince, Art of War, Discourses on Livy - Niccolo Machiavelli

The Republic, Symposium, The Last Days of Socrates - Plato

The Stranger - Albert Camus

Beyond Good & Evil - Frederick Nietzsche

Catch 22 - Joseph Heller

I've studied music my whole life, but am far from classically trained.

For leisure I used to read a lot of pop-sci pertaining to string or m theory (all the Brian Greene books, The Black Hole War, Michio Kaku, etc.)

Now I stick to science fiction with the occasional fantasy.

"Read" "Study" Lol. I've lost interest in everything in life. I just binge watch Youtube vids, game, work, post here, and eat.

Twilight of the Idols - Nietzsche

I study maths at uni, but taking a break from it, reading, shitposting, and watching other shit instead.

I'm not the envious type (bullshit) but I always wished math came naturally or appealed to me.

The start is meh, middle to the end is great, and I kind of chuckled/leled when he said "I killed God" lol. I think Thus Spoke Zarathustra is his best book, haven't gotten to it.

A lot of people aren't patient when doing maths. I could relate to them, sometimes I'm impatient, but rather I'm a slow learner. You just have to learn how to develop your intuition, connect the dots, and get good at using symbols. Its like how you learn arithmetic and do basic operations, like adding, subtracting, multiplying, divding with balls, or apples. It does get a little tougher when you apply some of your intuition into algebra, calculus, and beyond. But learning takes time, mate. You could check-out Khan Academy, work your up, then try using James Stewarts Calculus textbooks, and undergrad texts in analysis/algebra/geometry/topology. Good luck.

Thanks. I've read Thus Spake. It's pretty long winded and repetitive, but he makes some interesting points

Calculus III, Differential equations, tensors as far as maths are concerned.
I'm now trying to understand the Windows Driver Model.

Loved Calc III and Diff Eq.

If I could go back I'd be a math major (US).

neurobiology is a very interesting field

I am very based in neuropharmacology, actually in uni the exam that I liked the most ( if I had to choose one ) is pharmacology

Yeah I really liked The Fall as well. Did you read The Plague too? It's the only one of his works I never read.

Yeah I've got The Plague and read it. Worth reading, its above average. Borrow it if you can though, it's probably only worth reading once
