Mine is biting and picking my nails. I've bitten some down to the stump on occasion and it's a disgusting habit when you think what might be underneath them. It's an anxiety thing so I've bought myself some nail deterrent which give them a nasty, chemical taste, which I hope will help to break the habit.

I'd worry about this making me look unattractive to the opposite sex but that's not something I have to worry about...

What are yours?

Same as yours - biting nails. My fingers are utterly ruined, because I can't stop picking on them. Right now one of my fingers is swollen and I have whitlow, because the wound caught an infection. My parents tried the nail polish when I was a kid, but I just kept biting on the nails until I vomited. Sometimes I will break the habit for max 3 weeks, then relapse.

Debating stupid people on the internet.

Me three. I've been addicted to biting my nails for as long as I can remember.

Some other bad habits include binge eating and procrastination.

Eating until I'm stuffed

Drink soda, procrastinate, bite nails.

Being too lazy :society:

I would not even consider nail biting a "bad habit" tbh, I only do it when I see my nails are getting too long, it's never for reasons like anxiety.

Also what's underneath will help get you used to more kinds of bacteria and boost your immune system lol

Anxiety induced nail biting is a shit habit, because you don't stop as soon as the nails are "trimmed", but go all the way until you have wounds all over your fingers. This doesn't boost immune system either, because best you can get is whitlow (like I did) where your finger swells up for a couple of days and then you have to drain the pus.

I don't think they've had enough painful experiences to get tired of it lol

That's what it's called, I got that before too from biting lol. But it was by mistake, you see you should never bite and pull, that's the mistake so many novice nail biters make, you have to bite your nails as if you were using a nail clipper. Pulling is what leads to the pain, bleeding and infection

Oh epsom salt works great for that Whitlow thing, draws the puss right out and its a natural disinfectant too

If you ever get it again here's a secret, I'd take some epsom salt and melt it into a small cup hot water (a lot, a strong concentration, mix it around until it dissolves completely and the water looks clear). Then take a small strip of bandage/cloth and dip it into that water and quickly wrap the swollen finger in it (firm so it won't come off with movement but not too tight). Do this once when you wake up and once again before you go to sleep. It will keep the finger always soaked in epsom salt and the crystals will actually form back over time and form around the finger.

It stops the "throbbing" and the pain too (probably from the disinfectant properties)

Its the best "home remedy" kind of substance I know of. After using it I trust epsom salt completely for any infection.

It made getting the puss out so much easier as you basically see it all drawn up to the surface (so you know where to prick with the pin).

This won't ever happen to me again though, after that last time I'm too paranoid to bite and pull, I'm very careful when biting.

I've been biting nails for as long as I can remember, my parents used to discipline me for it, but my addiction turned out too strong for any punishment. Usually I start grinding nails on my teeth, then I move to the outer ring and that's where the damage happens.

I used a cream with a compound that works similarily to epsom salt, it draws pus to the surface of the skin which makes it easier to drain. Luckily it's recovering now and both inflammation and swelling are coming down. I had to stuff myself with painkillers during the initial phase of whitlow, because I experienced not only throbbing, but also sharp pain, kinda like when you hit yourself accidentally with the door or drawer.

I am buying the bitter polish again and will try to fight it, because this is the only reason why my hands have wounds all around.

Overeating but not wanting to get fat

Procrastinating, being lazy, not doing some work

Hunching and scratching my head like schizo

You don't need the polish.

You telling me you really can't stop yourself?, like come on dude.

If your life depended on it you couldn't simply stop biting your nails?.

Eating a lot of junk food. Wasting money (mostly on food).

I can't stop myself, because most of the time it slips my attention. I will realize that I'm biting when my fingers are already bleeding. It's pretty much like locking a drunkard in a liquor store and expecting them to overcome their alcohol addiction.

And yeah, if my life depended on it I would, because I already reduced my nail biting in early 2020 when I thought covid was going to turn me insides out. My dad used to say "stop biting your nails or no girl will ever want you". I should've listened.

Dude, that's bullshit, you are just creating excuses right now, you can literally feel your mouth move and feel your teeth touching your fingers, you aren't a leper, you still have feeling in the nerves all over your body.

An act that involves so much could never slip anyone's attention.

So you're saying if you coated your finger nails in a deadly poison, you biting your nails will magically "slip your attention" and then you'd die?

What a convenient suicide method, I guess you'll never have to worry about being to scared to "take the plunge" lol.

And yeah, if my life depended on it I would
:feelskek::feelskek::feelskek:

Yeah, that's exactly my point, you don't see it as necessary to stop and you aren't taking this seriously, so you feel no reason to stop.

All this "bitter polish" nonsense is just more excuses for you to keep going.

When you stop using the polish you'll just go right back to it.

If the polish being poisonous (life or death) would make you stop, then you are admitting that right now you are simply choosing not to stop, it has nothing to do with lack of self control. You just don't give a fuck about what your parents think or your own health.

Your life doesn't have to depend on it for you to stop, you just need to treat it with a level of seriousness as though your life depended on it. You simply don't take this serious, as much as you are complaining about it, you don't really find it too much of an inconvenience.

This is pointless, I'm done talking.

Eating alot, smoking, porn

Eating, procrastinating too much, watching porn, and generally being anoying and sarcastic for no reason

staying up late

Watching weird porn.

Playing too much video games is probably one of my only bad habits, though it's a very much controllable habit, I just do so because I never have anything else to do.

Being retarded.
