Discussion What are your requirements for taking someone's opinion seriously?

The people I take seriously never begin a debate by throwing around words like redditor, graycel, retard or low IQ.

They are open-minded to new ideas that might contradict their old views. You could defend women in a thread and they would read it, analyze it, and then give a reasonable opinion about it, even if they ended up disagreeing with it

Their attention span is not low. They will not jump down someone's throat just because of the thread's title. They will want to know the content of the thread before making an opinion.

And lastly, the people I take seriously are not know-it-all dorks with insufferable personalities. They are knowledgeable but humble people that are down-to-earth, chill and cool. You could actually invite them to a party and have fun.

These are the people I respect the most.
