This, I have the same plan, don't want to learn Spanish though so I'll be doing something else, but remote work is literally the cheatcode the system. Make US dollars and live somewhere with a low cost of living and an advantageous exchange rate. You can live like a king even while making peasant wages.
Take the Philippines for example. You can live comfortably in that country on 1500 US a month, that's 18K per year, which is only 6K above the poverty line for America
