I don't get the hype of this game though I don't understand what's so good about it.

I feel like that’s a slightly unjust comparison, mainly because of how set apart those two are in release date.

Obviously, older games, regardless of being Japanese or western, were inherently based and high IQ (thanks to their era) vs. what we have now (thanks to our respective generation). Western RPGs are not even RPGs any longer in their traditional sense. Games like Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Baldur’s Gate II, Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines, Kingdom Come: Deliverance (being the only modern exception) where the world you’ve inhabited has strictly specific rules that you ought to follow no longer exist, not just because they’re hard to make, but because there isn’t an audience for them, so good sales are never guaranteed. Nowadays, normies think of Dark Souls and Horizon as RPGs because they have a leveling system.

In the old games, you were actually PLAYING a role by deciding how you’re going to interact with not just your environment, but the NPCs, enemies, conflicts, and how you approach them by how you think it fits the character you’re role playing as (persuasion, force, manipulation, etc). There is practically zero player choice and world interactivity in 99% of modern “““R”””PGs.

I can’t. I just fucking can’t dude. :feelskek:

“This is the first game in the history of games that’s about le hecking racism n stuff! :feels::feelstastyman:

Quite an ironically hypocritical name for a game that has zero metaphors, zero subtlety, and zero ambiguity, ngl. :feelshaha:

Off topic, but where in the fuck did San Andreas embrace racism-related themes? Did that furry even play the game? SA is one of the least racist games there is, and that’s inherently by NOT mentioning racism deliberately, and by keeping everything as authentic as possible, including and especially stereotypes.

The only thing that slightly hinted at race related issues was a black on black action, :feelskek: with Tenpenny punching down on Carl at every given moment, indicating how men who’ve inherited a lot of power in the black community tend to put each other down due to the nature of their culture, and that’s only by a fucking stretch, and that’s ONLY if you squint your fucking eyes tight enough and force yourself to see it. :feelsgah:
