I was an awful student but the environment did play a huge role.

For example i am an extremely slow learner meaning that the entire school environment was pretty hostile for me.

I am fine learning on my own but whenever someone is pressuring me to answer right it just made me anxious and paranoid not to screw up and then get yelled at or embarass myself.

I don't know but whoever thought that pressuring a human being to learn anything was a good idea was a moron.

Of course it depends on the teacher but having to put your skills to the test in front of other people is just a bad way to teach.

Not giving enough time to comprehend the information and jumping straight to the exercise is pretty much what discouraged me from studying at school.
