I wouldn't just punch her, I'd crack her head the fuck open. I'd do it to anyone, guy or girl.
On Twitter, someone posted an image macro saying something pretty innocuous about how punching women is wrong, and we shouldn't give a platform to abusers. What was the most liked reply? A guy who said something like "That's bullshit. If a woman came up to me and mugged me with a knife I'd sure as hell punch her".
So now they don't want you to even try to defend yourself. Yes, it's a very risky possibly stupid thing to do, but I would never say don't defend yourself. And they wonder why Trump is president???
