Just came across a video that there is apparently a massive structure called 'the ring' with a diameter 500 times the size between earth and the Andromeda galaxy. Distance between us and Andromeda is 2.5 million lightyears by the way, so multiply that by 500.
Puts into perspective that all the stuff we worry about here on earth such as wageslaving and mortgage mean absolutely nothing.
NPC's still think that humanity will eventually be able to travel intergalactic but it's laughable, we are not even a type 1 civilization on the kardashev scale.

I think humanity is way too divided, we will go nowhere and only care about individual profit, as AI will most likely be abused by corporate fat pigs for their own gain and not helping to push humanity further forward on the scale I guess.

I don't think advanced species worry about wageslaving and individualism like profiting from others misery is it?

The cope is out this galaxy

Maybe for you, we're not all.on.the same wavelength in terms of thinking about life, and if you call it cope.you have not read the thread correctly

Im pretty sure humans will go extinct or atleast lose a majority of its population by 2040 all the evidence points to that. We won't ever get any intergalactic travel or any of that lmao

I didn’t read the thread but everything is cope

Our "ai" just manages to create slop generative videos or images which suck and you can easily point out or just a form of search engine which says misinformation half the time and chat bots which lose memory all the time

Cause most throughout history we were monogamous, not anymore and polygamy is embraced. Monogamy is what kept civilization intact and built civilizations not what we have been doing for the past 4 decades or so. I could care less about all of it cause it's either 2040 or the sun will explode in billions of years from now without a trace of us left, except voyager 1, that space probe we launched into nothingness

If AI were actually being built for space exploration, by now or near future we would already be seeing very different outcomes. Like Fully autonomous probes designing their own missions, driven telescopes discovering habitable worlds in real time, self repairing systems learning how to survive deep space without constant human input etc. We’d have simulations mapping entire star systems. Instead all this, most of the breakthroughs go toward ad targeting, content churn, market prediction and control/censorship. Humanity has a choice but we choose the opposite of space exploration. If companies have access to something with more processing power than what the government has access to, this should have been on their 'to do' list but no.

It’s very difficult to wrap your head around it. Just how small and insignificant we are compared to the wider universe. But I have zero faith that humanity will even be able to traverse a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the space out there. Our story starts on earth and it will most likely end on earth too

I think I'm going to end up dying in the same town i was born in

We aren't even able to travel to our own moon, I dont think the moon landing happened actually.
Why does China procrastinate in 2025 with their space program if we 'visited the moon' in a clownesque 60's tech ~50m² spaceship?
If it actually happened, then by now we'd see AI probes guided by laser at 10% the speed of light flying to Stephenson 218

We humans just never stopped fucking things up and I'm actually glad its coming to an end and I look forward to see us burn in 2040

If you really want to get an idea of how small and insignificant we are, look up the Boötes void

You keep quoting 2040, do you have some sort of prophecy mentally or in your dreams? Or is it based on real data and predictions out there.
Sounds like those Maya 2012 predictions I talked about earlier related to CERN

We will never be able to advance in any significant manner when we cannot even keep female nature at bay.

I agree, this filthy vile species should not corrupt the rest of the beautiful universe, preferably not even the edges of the solar system.
Let it go extinct, we did it ourselves with social media, hoeflation and all that shit.

I do feel jealous and resentful of boomers because arguably they have lived in the best period of the world

I hope we will at the very least become an interstellar species eventually. There are countless stars even within a 50 light years radius from our sun

Interesting article, I keep.seeing 'collapse' video's though i think most are doomscroll fuel and nit actually true, I believe we can't go on like this cause if we lived like this throughout history, we would have been extinct a long time ago.

Forerunner Slipspace like the UNSC in Halo 3 reaching the Ark (200k lightyears away) in 1/2 days would be dope

voyager 1, that space probe we launched into nothingness
unrelated to the thread but during my teenage years, in my astronomy phase, there was a short period of time where i was very very hyperfixated on that space probe.

even to this day i occasionally search up Voyager 1’s live stats on the internet as to how many miles it is away from earth and how quickly it is traveling.

its sort of fun to think about where that little motherfucker will end up at, even though we will all be long gone before it even reaches the Oort Cloud.

but even with how interesting i find the voyager 1 to be, i hope it gets taken by a black hole or runs into a star and gets consumed by it or some shit (which is what will probably happen once it goes far enough), as normalfag society in its modern state doesnt deserve any sort of trace of its existence after its gone whatsoever.

Not unrelated to the thread at all, same here. I was fixated on the probe but only for a short time, cause its stats pale by comparison to anything else in the universe. That space probe you're talking about I heard is cruising through space at roughly 61,000km per hour. To think about how big the universe is, even at that speed it’ll still take over 40,000 years to reach the nearest star outside our solar system. Let that sink in. We and this rock we live on are nothing in comparison
