Quite common idea that now with modern progressiveness we're reverting back to our animal state regarding dating and sex. I'd say that we have passed that already and that the current state of hypergamy is worse than ever before. It is amplified by sex obsessed/women worshipping pop culture, feminism and technology.
Women have super inflated egos and self worth, just about everything in this society screams women = good and men = bad, girls have been taught that they are all perfect princesses that deserves their dream man and should never settle for less. Then with Tinder and other social media their sexual culling is super enhanced and reaches world wide. Each left swipe is another lineage coming to an end, another man's hopes and dreams meeting their doom. A woman can in less than a second pass her judgement on any man that dares enter the brutal domain of online dating(which is now the most common way couples meet).
