I remember having this exact thought every time I saw a disabled person in public, I saw them get made fun of and treated differently and could only feel glad that I didn't live that life (yet). Yesterday I was on a walk and came to the realization that I was looking at myself in those moments. I always wonder what I could have done to prevent this unfortunate circumstance but it seems to have been apart of the script all along.
